Be Sugar Savvy!

Why do we consume so much sugar? Sugar, in many different forms, is added to many of our foods and beverages. Regular sodas add the most sugar to the typical American diet. A good way to decrease sugar in diets is to drink less soda and other sweetened beverages. Learn strategies to decrease your sugar-sweetened beverages and practice techniques to teach young children to be sugar savvy!

Health Educator

Gwen has worked as a health educator providing  low-income residents training and workshops to improve their health and wellness. Gwen led the implementation of grass-root community wellness programs as the Health   Educator for the Nutrition and Physical Activity Promotion Project in Contra Costa County’s Community Wellness and Prevention Program. Gwen holds a BA and Masters from San Francisco State University.
